Carers First
TheCarers First Facebook page is an online extension of their support for people who provide unpaid care for a relative, friend or neighbour who cannot manage without their help. They share information on their services, education about unpaid carers and any opportunities to support them.
Community Agents Essex
An Essex Facebook page dedicated to “a countywide network of Community Agents supporting adults, especially older people (and people with learning disabilities and autism) to enable them to remain living in their own homes and to sustain their independence”.
Epping Forest Foodbank
An amazing UK charity organisation that tackles food poverty in Epping Forest. Fuelled by the belief that nobody in the community should have to go hungry, they “provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis, who live in or near the Epping Forest District”.
Their Facebook page includes details of both their services and how you can donate and support the charity.
Essex County Council
It’s always worth following your local county council for updates and content about your local area. This can include anything from activities to offers to general information.
Essex Is Green
Essex Is Green is a collaboration between Essex County Council and the Essex Climate Action Commission. If you’re keen to learn more about protecting the environment, living sustainably and any opportunities to be more ‘green’ in Essex then this is a must-like group.
Essex Library Services
As they say on their Facebook page themselves, you should like their page to “get regular updates from Essex Libraries. You’ll find out about what’s new, some great reading ideas and events happening across the county”.
Essex Is United
Originally born out of the pandemic as ‘Essex Coronavirus Action Group’, Essex Is United continues to share Covid-19 safety messaging as well as Essex news and features, and practical support for Essex residents in a wide variety of areas.
Essex Mums
A place for mothers all over Essex to share information, experiences and stories of life as a parent in Essex. You can also find plenty of tips and advice from where to spend a day out with your child to tasty recipes.
Heads Up Essex
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund, Heads Up Essex “help people get back to work [and provide] great tips, ideas and inspiration on how to keep healthy at work”.
Family Law Advice, Employment Law Advice, Housing Law Advice, and Consumer Law Advice
Pro-Bono Legal Advice in Essex run various private Facebook groups to help people discuss various laws in England and Wales – such as family law, employment law, housing law and consumer law.
They also run weekly Facebook clinics where you can ask questions about the law in the above areas to law advisors and lawyers.
United in Kind
If you’re looking for a boost of kindness and positivity, United in Kind’s Facebook page is the place to go. They’re an Essex movement that tackles social isolation and loneliness in the county.
